With the reveal of a previous teaser from Maxis Studios, many Simmers were quick to theorize what the new pack could be, from fairies to jewelry. Fortunately, the wait for the answer wasn’t too long, thanks to the debut of The Sims 4 Crystal Creations Stuff Pack.

In this trailer, it’s all about jewelry. You can design your wearable gems to show off your unique creations. The designing process utilizes materials like Metal and Crystals, using the new Sims 4 Gemology skill. The snippet showcases many variations of items, such as Gold, Sadnum, Diamond, and Jet.

The many EPs of the Sims universe continue to keep the franchise alive, incorporating more content with each passing year. But with so many add-ons out there, it can be challenging to keep up with them all, especially when deciding on a new EP. 15. Snowy Escape

Although Snowy Escape is at the bottom of the list, it is by no means a bad Sims 4 expansion pack. One of its best qualities is the many decorative objects you can utilize in almost any world, showcasing a Japanese-inspired furniture collection. The pack is also just plain fun to explore, where you can take a trip down the snowy mountains and relax in the cozy rock garden.

One of the many features that made the Sims franchise stand out from other games is the inclusion of various cultures, in which players can truly feel represented. Whether it be through the creation of a character or household, it gives them a chance to say, “Hey, look, it’s me” or “This is what my childhood home used to look like.”

Throughout the years, the Sims series has evolved even more with cultural representation, especially with the latest For Rent expansion pack that centers around a Southeast Asian lifestyle. I had the privilege of chatting with the EP’s Cultural Consultant, Jason Chu, who discussed the importance of authenticity during the development process.

The Sims 4’s vast horse collection allows many players to craft the steed of their dreams, with over 30 breeds and numerous coat colors. However, fans were quick to notice one type missing from the selection, and that is the mystical unicorns.

Yet, despite the creature’s absence, Simmers analyzed the matter further by looking over the Horse Ranch expansion’s coding, where they discovered a line designated for these unique stallions. It seems as though this horse was previously a part of the family, but it was ultimately removed from the official version.

The Sims 4 Infants update gave Simmers a whole new life stage — Infants, obviously. But one surprise new feature has changed the game in a big way. The ‘Have Science Baby’ interaction allows Simmers to create an even wider variety of nuclear and non-nuclear families than ever before. The latest Sims 4 base game update adds a ton of new features, objects, and even a whole new life stage to the world of the Sims. Here’s everything you’ll find in the Sims 4 Infants Update, now live for all PC, Mac, and console players.

More Realistic Newborns

Prior to the update, there was only one life stage before toddlers — Babies. That life stage is now called “Newborns,” and the devs have made a lot of quality-of-life updates for this time in every Sim’s life.

The Sims 4 Infants Update launched with only a slight delay at around 10:20 AM PT, but many EA App users can’t get into their game library at all.

Simmers who logged into the EA App to download the latest Sims 4 Base Game Update received an annoyingly coy error message that read, “Login did not go as planned. We couldn’t log you in because the network failed to do its network thing. Try again in a few minutes.”

The latest Behind the Sims Summit was a whopper, with nearly three hours of new content and gameplay. But one of the most incredible things about this live stream was learning how much new content is coming to every Sims 4 player with the Infants update on March 14, 2023. There’s more content in this free base game patch than in some of the paid Kits and Packs. Here are the top five things I can’t wait to experience in-game.

Diversity

Sim babies have always been maddeningly limited in terms of diversity and customizability. Currently, the game only has three skin tones for babies, and if one or both of the parent Sims have a custom skin tone, their babies might even change colors periodically.

When EA scheduled the latest Behind the Sims Summit to line up with a patch release, the Sims Community rumor mill started buzzing. The last BTS Summit dropped the news that a new life stage – Infants – would soon be coming to the Sims 4, and many Simmers hoped that this post-livestream update would be it.

And while we only got a due date for the arrival of Sims 4 Infants, this update did add something pretty epic – top surgery scars – making yet another huge leap forward in terms of diversity, both in The Sims and in the entire gaming industry.

If you believe the rumor mill, the next Sims 4 Expansions Pack is a reboot of The Sims 3: Generations. That pack added weddings, high school graduations, new kids’ activities, and relationship drama to the game. With all the speculation about what might be coming, here’s what Simmers are hoping to see this year.

Improved Relationship Mechanics

Family dynamics have come a long way since the initial release of The Sims 4, but there’s still a lot more EA could do to add richness and variety to family relationships. The family tree, for example, only shows five total generations, including the current (youngest) one. This makes ongoing Legacy Challenges and multigenerational family storytelling difficult.

The Sims 4 Seasons Expansion Pack lets you celebrate the holidays with your Sims! Enjoy four seasons complete with snowstorms, lightning, and sweltering heat, and participate in holiday traditions like decorating the tree for Winterfest, cooking a grand meal for Harvestfest, and giving flowers to someone special on Love Day. This is one of my all-time favorite Sims 4 Expansions because it adds a massive amount of gameplay mechanics, features, build mode items, and clothing to your Sims world.

While some would argue that the fanbases of The Sims 4 and Mass Effect series are separate, there happen to be a good few players who like to delve into both games despite their vastly different genres. Because of such players, BioWare has decided to grace The Sims 4 with some cool new content in celebration of N7 Day.

While this is not exactly a game or stuff pack, it is still a pretty notable crossover as many fans from either side were not expecting it.

The famous Froggy Chair is now available in the latest Little Campers Kit in The Sims 4. The wholesome fascination for this item started when Animal Crossing: New Leaf included it in Tom Nook’s store. Since then, various memes and posts have helped propel the Froggy Chair to furniture stardom. Animal Crossing: New Horizons featured the item again due to the chair’s popularity over the years.

The esteemed item will reach a higher level of notoriety with this new crossover to The Sims 4. Fans are ecstatic to see the special furniture debut in another game, and the community is buzzing all over the internet to celebrate.

While many fans find that their Sims’ relationships make up an important part of gameplay in The Sims 4, they also feel that weddings between Sims could use some work. More often than not Sims will not really participate in a wedding, roaming around freely while the actual ceremony between the two marrying parties itself is more tedious than fun. The Sims 4 team has just announced a new game pack that brings in-game weddings to a new level. The Sims 4 My Wedding Stories has just been revealed to Simmers in a unique trailer showcasing the coming together of two Sims, Dominique Umeh & Camille Soto.

The Sims 4 offers a variety of clothing options, but it doesn’t always feel like enough. If you’ve felt that the clothes can feel a bit stale or that they have gotten old, you’re in luck. No longer will custom content be your go-to! New Sims 4 kits have just been announced as a part of their “Season of Selves” event in which your Sims can celebrate what makes them each unique. A massive update was also released with more to come after it, including new colors for your Sims’ furniture and better customization options.

The two kits revealed today, Incheon Arrivals Kit and Fashion Street Kit, celebrate Indian and Korean culture through colorful outfits. There will be two more kits announced after these, however, with one more relating to fashion and another focusing more on building.

The Sims 4 Spa Day has been out now for a while, but many Simmers have felt as though it could use an update. The team behind the game has decided to jump back to the pack and “refresh” it with a big, free update. If you have Spa Day and are looking to get more worth out of what you paid, then this update will be perfect for you. The Sims 4 Spa Day refresh update brings many new features to the pack including manicures, pedicures, and much more.

Spa Day’s refreshing new update will be released on Tuesday, September 7. The trailer, showcased earlier today just a week after the launch of the new Industrial Loft Kit, is just below so be sure to give it a watch for more details and read on for the highlights.

The Sims 4 team announced a pack that many Simmers had long been awaiting, Cottage Living. It looked to feature barn animals such as cows, llamas, and the much smaller chickens. Wild animals such as birds, foxes, and rabbits were also shown in the reveal trailer, leaving many fans excited for what seems to be the closest thing to a farming expansion The Sims 4 will release.
